What is your story

It is moments like these that makes our job so satisfying. Ethan has been a part of our world since he was born. We have watched him grow into the 8 year old he is. While we take annual family portraits, his mother has planned different ages of the children that they have their very own portrait session. His sister Ellee had her 8 year old portraits done with her violin in an orchard. Ethan on the other hand is a little golfer. The fun part is watching their personalities unfold during the portrait session. It tells a story . . . . their story.

Senior Event Cards

M&R is known for their Senior Event Cards that are inserted in graduation announcements. They have replaced the single wallet that used to be inserted. These event cards are two sided and printed on a linen paper. They tell the seniors story, and show personality! Family and friends love to get them. Lanae was a little hesitant to do a studio shoot, but it was too late to go up to our Brianhead location. Once these photos were done she could not have been happier with the end results.

TOO MUCH FUN

This is Jude and we got to have so much fun with him and his mother. We were celebrating his one year birthday. There was cake and boy was there was a party. The part that made this sitting so much fun was the attitude of Jude's mom. She was so excited to have him come and play with us. Her calm attitude made it so easy to work with her little guy. We try to tell our parents that calm is best. Our little people sense how uptight or stressed their parents are. When the air is light the mood is fun , we can do amazing things. Thanks Linzi for sharing this fun moment with us!

Fall Time

This fall we had a lot of fun shooting up at Brianhead, Utah. In fact it would be safe to say it is our very favorite location. Jak Jak of course was very willing to play with us in the leaves and smile his little heart away. So much, that when it was all done he had lots and lots of loves to share with Grandma. When we do a shoot no matter who it is, we love to catch the little details of what is going on even outside the planned poses. We really do love capturing life as it happens.

Rhonda's Pride and Joy

This little guy visits our studio on a very regular basis. He has a very special spot at M&R Gallery. Jakston is Rhonda's very first grandson. We have loads of portraits to share of this little guy and this is just one of many.

Babies at their Finest

Little ones really have a special spot at M&R. WE LOVE children and capturing their purest emotions. These beautiful babies are the grandchildren of Pat & Dan Frei. Their son Rhett and daughter in law Sarah live in Phoenix Arizona. We loaded our cameras and lighting and hit the road to work in Phoenix on several projects and this was our special treat to do while there. Klara and Cozette got their very first personal portrait sitting.

Fall Family Sessions

This family image was taken out on the desert west of Santa Clara.   Our fall family sessions fill up fast.  We are excited to be shooting up in Brianhead in the aspen trees with the fall leaves.  We will be there October 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, which is a Thursday through Saturday.  Other sessions will take place in Snow Canyon Park with the red rock, and Pine Valley down in the meadow with the tall dead grass and green pine trees.  You can also find the urban look shooting in the alleys of St. George.  Call our studio and we will fill you in on the details of dates and other locations.

Getting Prepared for Your Portrait Shoot

We want to try and answer questions you might have for us on our Blog.  We love working with our clients closely and understanding what it is they are after in their portrait session.  It's never safe to assume, because you have seen it done, that your photographer will be able to duplicate it.   For first time clients it is a high priority to have you visit our studio.  It gives us the opportunity to meet you and  become aware of what it is your looking for in a portrait session so that we can take care of your needs.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR PORTRAIT SESSION

When you begin your shopping plans for your portrait session, keep these few things in mind:

1).  Long sleeve solids always work best!  Dark pants are more flattering than light pants.  Stay away from wearing trendy logos.  Families should dress in the same color "tone", not everyone has to be wearing exactly the same color, but keep the tones similar.

2).  Ladies, make up should be applied a little heavier than normal for photographs and men

make sure you are freshly shaved.

3).  No need to worry about blemishes or scars, we take care of those for you!

4).  Lint rollers and hairspray  are ALWAYS good ideas!

5).  Be prepared to have an AMAZING experience!

BOOKING SESSION & VIEWING IMAGES

The first step is to give us a call to schedule your portrait session.  All of our sessions are booked by reservation.  This means that you pay a deposit at the time you book your appointment.  The session deposit covers the time and talent of the photographer in creating your portraits and the remaining is applied to your order.   

During this phone call, we will also book your ordering session.  This will take place approximately one week from your session date.  During your ordering session you'll purchase the portraits you'll need for your home, your friends, and any special occasions that might be upcoming.  Our ordering sessions are completely proof-less and are done by digital projection on our large screen!  It is an awesome way to experience your portraits.  If you have ordered our wall portraits, this is the time to choose your frames.  M&R Gallery specializes in finished fine art pieces that are ready to go on your wall.  A wide selection of frames are available to choose from.

Your homework between the date of your portrait session and the date of your ordering session is to make a list of the people who will need images larger than wallets.  These include grandparents, aunts/uncles, step-parents, siblings, and longtime family friends. We will also need you to measure the wall that your wall portrait will be displayed in your home.

IMAGE PRESENTATION AND PICK UP

Studio policy requires us to say that you will receive your portraits within 6-8 weeks of your ordering session.  However, we do our best to get portraits delivered ahead of schedule.  

Fall time is our busiest season!  If you're looking to book a portrait session in October or November, PLEASE CALL NOW!  Our schedule book is filling up FAST!

Well, it's official. M&R Gallery has finally launched their blog! We are so excited, to have a place where we can interact with our clients.
